Today I finished my 4 week, 12 session OnRamp program to get me started with CrossFit.
This consisted in 3 workouts per week, for four weeks. These workout sessions were early in the morning (6:30AM) and lasted for about an hour. During this time we learned some of the basic moves of CrossFit and were pushed to improve our fitness enough to start to see some changes.
On the first day, we did a fit test workout. Today, on the last day, we did it the same exercise again.
This test consisted of:
- 200m run
- 15 pushups
- 15 air squats
- 15 ring rows
- 200m run
- 12 pushups
- 12 air squats
- 12 ring rows
- 200m run
- 9 pushups
- 9 air squats
- 9 ring rows

I’m pretty sure you know what a pushup is. Here’s what air squats look like:
And here’s what ring rows look like:
On the first day, I could barely finish this test. My time was 10 minutes, 18 seconds.
Today, on the last day, we did it again. It was hard, but a lot easier than on day one.
My time today was an awesome 7 minutes, 40 seconds.

It feels really good to have improved so much in just four weeks, working out just three days a week.
I have decided that I’m going to give this CrossFit thing a try. I start again tomorrow, and I plan on working out every weekday.
